Boston

Remember Tom Cruise in Top Gun and his cool leather bomber jacket? Boston channels that look with aged battered leather furniture mixed with chrome and nickel details and weathered natural timbers. An aeronautical influence can be seen in black and white photographic prints and propeller inspired imagery. Medium toned textured timbers add to a strong masculine feel creating a cool industrial look.

Why we love Boston interior design style

Boston style interior design gives the feel of a moody and warm loft apartment with a masculine undertone. Soft grey base colour palette with warmth through timbers and contrast created through injection of charcoal, ink and navy blue. Large focus on ambient feature lighting. Ranging from a contemporary architectural fitting mixed in with metal / industrial fittings and hand-blown glass.

How did we create the Boston look

Soft grey base colour palette with warmth through timbers. Variety of timber tones varying from mid to dark. Greyed off timbers introduced through cabinetry and a touch of Black introduced through décor / furniture and fittings. Colour splash through décor, however muted in tones and greenery introduced to create freshness and brighten up spaces. Large expanses of glass to flood in natural light, and incorporation of feature lighting into structure of home. Contemporary coffered ceilings and timber panelled ceilings. Accent colours through décor / fabrics and artwork – mustard, amber, deep blues, inks, charcoals, very slight touches of burnt red. Linen sheers bring softness to space and help introduce a feminine touch. Large focus on artwork. Oversized artwork used to bring texture, colour and dimension to walls.
