Ever wondered what modern-day royalty in Australia would look like? Think grace and grandeur meets chic minimalism and you’ve got our expansive Mont Albert; a Porter Davis home design offering old school opulence through distinctive and classically driven features. One of our most popular creations, the Mont Albert is family living at its very finest, with an impressive two storeys of light-filled, luxe retreats.
Downstairs boasts multiple family zones, but the open plan kitchen and rear dining area is undoubtedly the star of the show. Placed under an expansive void, the dining space takes light-centric design to new heights, with two storeys of grand windows making this a truly inviting hub of the home.
Enveloping an undercover alfresco, the wrap around style of the ground floor allows for a seamless extension to outdoors and, with several interconnected living areas, is sure to thrill keen entertainers with the prospect of year-round hosting.
In our Queensland display the colour palette has been stripped back to simplicity, consisting of off-whites, light greys, and matte blacks throughout fixtures.
Enter into the kitchen to find a sleek, contemporary take on everyone’s favourite space — created through uniform and conservative cabinetry that works to hide away larger appliances, such as the fridge.
Countering the minimalist feel in this space is a light timber finish, used sparingly in select shelving and the central island bench. Warmer tones and textured finished are perfect for injecting a dash of Resort vibes, and the Mont Albert creates a cohesive and carefully considered look by incorporating wooden elements through each distinct zone of the home.
Classic interiors are generally created through balance and order, composed around a central focus piece. Without a doubt, the standout feature of this home is the spiralled staircase; a true homage to history through architecture, and vital to capturing the Classic Paris theme.
Our Mont Albert display shows how to perfectly execute traditional features in a modern day home — offering a break from more modish spaces, such as the kitchen, with a gorgeous dark stained timber finish on the staircase and timeless wall panelling.
Not one, two, or even three, but four communal areas across both storeys means there are endless options for the whole family to retreat and relax — or at least provide the kids with the grounds for an epic game of hide and seek.
In addition to the ground floor’s guest bedroom, the first level holds another four rooms which includes an imposing master at the rear — complete with ensuite and a truly extravagant walk-in robe.
The robe, nearing the size of the home’s additional bedrooms, offers much more than just storage, with the opportunity to create an ultra-luxe space by adding statement furniture pieces and pendant lighting.
And if that’s not enough, every single upstairs bedroom comes with its own ensuite and walk-in robe, meaning there’s no fighting from the kids over who gets the better room!
In our classically themed Arise display, just the right dash of contemporary is used to balance the Paris theme. Matte black fixtures and fittings contrast opulent, floor-to-ceiling marble in the bathrooms, with a mix of both square and herringbone. Simplicity is bliss in this professionally executed interior, with minimal and carefully curated greenery, ceramics and glassware.
Truly a crowd favourite, the Mont Albert leverages functionality alongside design, creating a wonderfully stylish home with no compromise on easy family living.
